自らの身体から出てくる形を“マリオ曼陀羅”として描き続ける。 　1973年、埼玉県生まれ。幼少期から太陽を肉眼で眺めて過ごす。二十代半ばまで、フランス、オーストラリア、アメリカなどで暮らし、宗教芸術、思想哲学、トライバルアート、サイケデリックアートに触れる。 　2001年より現在の曼陀羅のイメージを得て、絵を描きはじめる。'05年、『マリオ曼陀羅展』＠Gallery Bar Kajima開催。『曼陀羅ぬりえ』出版（distribution by Flying Books）。2007年は英国Trolley Books より『Mario Mandala Colouring Book』出版および、ロンドンのTrolley Galleryにて個展およびライブペインティングを開催。ほかにも、アートフェア「Art@Agnes2007」出展、ユニクロの現代アートＴシャツシリーズに参加など多岐に渡って活動。７月には「magic room?」にて、さまざまなジャンルのゲストとのコラボレーションを通じて、６日間に渡ってライブ・ペインティングを行うイベント「PSYCHE-GA-DELIC／マリオ曼陀羅ウィーク」を開催した。 　2008年は1月の香港を皮切りに、ロンドン、アムステルダム、そして国内 void+ および Regreen での展示とライブ・パフォーマンス。 「東京コンテンポラリー・アート・フェア 2008 （TCAF2008）」でのアクション・ドローイング。 　2009年はGraniph Gallery Fukuoka（レントゲンヴェルケ）での展示を皮切りに、日本国内、ロンドン、アムステルダム等でのライブ・ドローイングのパフォーマンスや、ラディウム／レントゲンヴェルケでのグループ展『Moeglichkeit II』への参加。「Art Osaka 2009」出展。Asian Collection Contemporary Art Gallery での展示。その他、Magic Room?? や WOMB 等、国内でのパフォーマンス・イベントを継続的に行うなど、活動を続ける。 ロゴ・デザイン、本の表紙等の装画などにも活動の場を広げる。

Mario Tauchi (b.1973 -) Born in Saitama/Japan, grown up in Japan, Paris, Melbourne and Philadelphia -- influenced by religious art, philosophical thoughts, trivial and psychedelic art. Now lives and works in Tokyo. Started to create the "mandala" shapes in 2001, and since then it continues. Published his first book "Mandala Nurie" (distribution by Flying Books/Tokyo) in 2005, and then published "Mario Mandala Colouring Book" (Trolley Books/UK) in 2007. Exhibited at galleries (ie- Radium von Roentgenwerke AG, Magic Room? void+, Regreen, Asian Collecion), and art fairs (ie- Art@Agnes2007, TCAF2008, Art Osaka 2009). Picked up by UNIQLO's T-shirts project. Performs at numbers of live-painting/drawing events in Japan, London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, with various musicians/poets/performers, etc..
